Sleuth of the Month ~ Olen Steinhauer
Olen Steinhauer's lastest book and last in the Eastern European Series was just named one of Booklist's Best Crime Novel's of 2008. Mr. Steinhauer grew up in Virginia and has lived in many places over the years. He presently lives in Budapest, Hungary but it was his time spent in Romania on a Fulbright Grant that inspired the 5 books in his Eastern European Series. He also has held many interesting jobs including dish washer, librarian and English teacher. According to his blog, he was in the process of moving last October, had just finished a manuscript, The Tourist, and Warner Bros. was considering a movie of the same with none other than George Clooney. The series chronicles the exploits of members of the People's Militia in an unnamed Eastern European country during the 50-year length of the Cold War.
