How
Do I...?
Get a Library Card
To obtain a Saxton B. Little Free Library card, you need to be a
resident of Columbia (if you are not, please see below for more info). To
receive a card, you must visit the library in person and present a form of ID
that shows your current address (such as a driver's license). If you have just
moved to town and have not changed the address on your license, please supply us
with a piece of mail that has been sent to your new home. After that, staff
will add the information to the computer. You will then be given the opportunity
to register to vote. Finally, once you sign the card, it is valid.
As an added bonus, your up-to-date Saxton B. Little Free Library card
is valid at every public library (and many universities) in the state of
Connecticut. Please be aware of these other libraries' policies, as they may
differ from ours.
What if I don't live in Columbia?
If you are not a resident of Columbia, but
would like to check items out here, we will need to see an up-to-date library
card from your town of residence. Once we have the information added to our
system, you will be able to check items out of the Saxton B.

Reserve an item
To reserve a book or other item, so that you will be contacted when it is
available, contact the library, either over the phone (860) 228-0350, through
e-mail staff@columbiactlibrary.org,
or when you stop by to say hello. Please note that when we contact you to inform
you that the item is in, we can only hold it for a few days, as other patrons
maybe interested in it as well, and it is unfair to everyone to have it sitting
on the back shelf where no one can have it.
