Sue Henry

Little has been written about Sue Henry. This could be frustrating for her many fans. Ms. Henry is the award winning author of the Alaska Mystery Series in which she combines history, Alaskan lore and the beauty of Alaska to bring the mysteries alive. The series begins with the 1991 Macavity and Anthony Award Winner for best first novel, Murder on the Iditarod Trail. Two characters are introduced in this first book; Trooper Alex Jensen and his girlfriend Jessie Arnold, Alaska's premier female musher. There's lots of information about mushing, the dogs and the training it takes to run this elite race. Early direction in the novels seemed to focus on the character Alex Jensen but by book five, Deadfall, Jessie Arnold stars and soon becomes the favorite character of Ms. Henry's fans over the the eleven novels in the series.

In 2004 Ms. Henry started a new series featuring Maxie McNabb, a retiree who ventures across the country in her motor home, finding murder and mayhem as she goes. In the first novel, Serpent's Trail, Maxie sets out from Alaska with her dachshund, Stretch to visit her friend in Colorado. Rather than a visit she finds herself executrix of her friend Sarah's estate. There are presently three novels in this series.
